The YYOGA studio invited me for a discovery yoga session. Having never ever done yoga before, I felt I needed to give it a try. It was a truly beautiful experience.
I didn’t want to find myself in the middle of a super advanced class, where everyone virtually speaks sanskrit and flows from posture to posture! So I went for the “safest” choice: the HATHA 90′ Sunday class. Perfect for beginners. Robbie was our teacher. The class was very pleasant both in physical- and spiritual terms. We tried to balance the concepts of “sthira” and “sukha” which mean effort and ease in sanskrit. Those two Yin and Yang co-essentials truly compliment each other. To manifest sthira, we need to connect to the ground beneath us. Be grounded, steady. Sukha means comfortable and light, the pose must be joyful and easy.
The class was so inspiring. I was challenging my body but respecting its limits at the same time. Something we often fail to do in a spinning or bodypump class, right? Yoga is about the respect of your body, working without violence and striving for balance, reaching body consciousness.
I definitely want to keep exploring yoga. And YYOGA is such a beautiful studio… They have a shop up front with yoga accessories and organic cosmetics and two studios in the back. The setting is so relaxing, soothing, oozing calming vibes. They give different yoga styles, like Hot Yoga, Hot Flow, Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa. There are also pilates class, another must for me. All classes are taught in English. You can take a look at the Schedule and prices here. Remember you can get a free “full pack” (mat, two towels and water) if you get a discovery pass mentioning The Brusselsprouts! (offer valid for the 25 first people!)
So sprouters, see you at YYOGA. Namaste.
