There’s a new kid in the Plux block: . Right on the square, the place is absolutely breathtaking and the food is delish. Plus it’s great value for money. I guess you can stop reading now…

Kidding.

I love the interiors. The balance between rough and warm. Soft leather seats and light wood clash beautifully with copper beer barrils and black scaffolding structures. The bar is long enough to serve a whole football selection and so is the drinks list. The three lads in CL (Bruno, Axel & Chuck) placed their bet on quality and authenticity. A barista for perfect coffee, a mixologist for cocktails, super nice food and beer served directly from the tank (no contact with air).

I’ve had both lunch and brunch. Both are great, although very different. For lunch, you basically have two types of menus: one with salad, one with sandwich. They both come with a homemade juice and a hot beverage. At about 10 euros, I think it’s a bargain, especially since everything is fresh and delicious.

For brunch on weekends, you have three choices: [ I wish I could fly ] fresh orange juice, coffee or tea, french toast and yogurt with granola  //  [ Fit for Kings and Queens ] fresh orange juice, coffee or tea, quiche, green lentil salad and a selection of cheese and charcuterie  //  [ From A to Z ] fresh orange juice, coffee or tea, french toast, yogurt and granola and a scrambled eggs & bacon toast. Served from 11 to 3, prices are super reasonable at 14, 18 and 16,50 respectively.

My fave option is definitely [ I wish I could fly ]. The granola is heavenly, so delicate and crunchy. And underneath the yogurt lay caramelised pears with cinnamon. Mmmh. And the french toast with raspberries and banana was pure bliss. I could have that every morning.

Sure am glad Café Luxembourg has opened right across the office so I can eat out healthily and without going broke :) Plus their festival-like outdoor benches will make a hell of a terrace in the soon-to-come sunny days.
