hinterland:
/hɪntəland/ noun. 2. an area lying beyond what is visible or known (Oxford Dictionaries).
Brussels has materialised the concept using bricks, wood and light. is a haven of peace in the middle of the city. An urban refuge, as they call it. You can chill with friends around a latte and a cookie, have a healthy organic lunch or even camp in, and turn the place into your office for the day.
Foodwise, you’ll find organic homemade soups, salads, sandwiches, quiches and all kinds of tempting sweet treats. The beautiful people behind the project prefer organic and local ingredients whenever possible and use sustainable packaging. What’s not to love?
Hinterland is super luminous, what with the glass corner and the light wood. The old bricks, original floor tiles and the occasional fur here and there give an incredible warmth to the place. And I’m in love with their neon logo sign on the back wall. Rad design, photography and fashion magazines are available on cute wired baskets or on the walls, fueling your inspiration and making time dreamily pass by. The cosy feeling that invades you in this urban nest is exquisite and makes it hard to leave. I can’t wait to go back on a Friday afternoon.
