I recently paid visit to my home country playas and they were gorgeous. Fine sand, blue and wild waters, idyllic beach clubs.
Therefore, while I hold nothing personal against the wonderful Netherlands, its beaches were not far from a disenchantment.
Ok, to be fair and square, we’re talking different hemispheres and opposite seasons. Plus, a particularly grey day was shining on Scheveningen, NL on that occasion.
Still.
All we could do was admire the industrial landscape, dodge the dogs and play with the damp sand under the mysterious concrete pier.
Yay.
No exclamation point.
I guess I’m either too addicted to the sea or in denial.
My guess is I’ll be staying away from the beach till milder times arrive.
