is as much a culinary project as an architectural gem, which makes sense being housed in Brussels’ architecture school. The simple university lunchroom, affordable bistronomic restaurant and great brunch spot all-in-one is shaping up to be a centrifugal force in the Flagey area.

With a menu signed Damien Bouchéry & Antoine Germain, L’Architecte is about affordable great food. Come mingle with students and teachers at lunchtime and have a (bargain!) daily special, a self-dish (from 4.50€), a composed dish (from 8€) or Belgian classic fries. Slurp an ice cream scoop by Frederic Bondeel and on weekends, feast on the buffet brunch with Damien Bouchéry’s own bread, homemade croissants and pain au chocolat, rich cheese platters, deli cuts and delicate veggie dishes like a turnip carpaccio with roasted sunflower seeds, an uber moisty Spanish tortilla and more bliss…

The interiors are signed Pablo Lhoas, architect and the School’s Dean. Expect raw concrete walls, naked pink technical rails that will get you instragramming the living bejesus out of them and a stunning unobstructed view of the Flagey square. With a myriad lectures, conferences and other events of the like, L’Architecte will nourish us body and soul.
