For those of you in the constant quest of a new spot to Brunch, let me introduce you to .
SUP is a story of three friends, Dane, Géraldine and Amélie and how they put their origins and culinary experience to good use. Dane is half British, half Lebanese. You know, your typical Brusseler… He learned most of his cooking in kitchen-battles with his mum. Géraldine and her Italian roots inspire the team to explore Italian specialties in their declination of British BUNS. And Amélie, the Belgian cook of the three, gets her kitchen talents from her dad. They’re always innovating and creating new recipes so that diners are constantly surprised.
SUP is located on Chaussée d’Alsemberg 148 in Saint-Gilles and oozes good vibes and joy. The team proposes various menus on Saturdays, the star of which are their delicious BUNS, hence the BUNCH! They propose a BUNCH menu for 14€ with hot beverage, fresh juice, dessert and two choices among the buns and sides-dishes. Soooooo reasonable!
For the sweet tooth among you, they also have a French-er brunch, with croissants, bread, spreads and yoghurt. 10€!
Kath and I went for the BUNCH. -By the way, there are no pictures of K in this post because she was having a Bon Jovi Hair day-. Moving on.
Their Bun of the day was absolutely delightful -scrambled eggs, perfect crisp bacon and barbecue sauce. Kath and me couldn’t stop making approving noises while downing the buns. You know that awkward mmmhhh…that accompanies your chewing when the object of such mastication is indescriptible?
I tried the parsnip-coconut soup and Kath the rice salad with red curry and veggies.
Capuccino for me, tea for the lady -as usual.
Then came the desserts. We tried it all!!! Pear pie, brownie, and -by far the yummiest: the pear-cinnamon tiramisu. (awkward mmmh noises again).
Most of the puddings are home made by Géraldine or Amélie. But they also have cupcakes and brownies from .
All in all, a great address in Saint-Gilles, delicious healthy products, wallet-friendly and a super nice staff.
Oh! And if that wasn’t enough, they cater for companies and propose healthy lunch (in & take out). And seeing the soup season is coming up…. If you ask me whassup, I say SUP!!
