is a Rustic-chic café with its own roastery, serving amazing specialty tea & coffee, fresh cakes & sandwiches. It was one of the places on my to-visit list and I’m glad I gave it a try. Coffee lovers: you’ll be in awe and probably leave with an armful of coffee bags and even sign up for cuppings. Wifi lovers: don’t get near it. They have no wireless connection and laptops are even fround upon so if you’re looking for a café to work in, better try a spot like Distrikt Coffee or Bikini Berlin awesome woodfire bakery.
The Barn’s philosophy is to source and roast some of the best arabica coffees available mostly from micro-farms, operating with a strong focus on detail and quality. By paying premium prices they enable coffee farmers to create a sustainable business. Their main partner is Nordic Approach. The Barn doesn’t blend coffees, as they want to showcase the characteristics of each coffee type, keeping the flavours pure and clean. They use a super rad 1955 Probat Roast machine which has been totally overhauled with latest tech.
I particularly loved that they often have empty coffee burlap sacks that you can take home for free :)
There are two Barns in Berlin, both relatively close to each other and in my favorite neighbourhood, full of galeries, shops, restaurants and cafés.
